Off The Beaten Path (2013)
The third album released by Justin Moore was Off The Beaten Path (2013). Music studio label Valory Music Group produced it on September 17, 2013. The deluxe version was produced some months later. With the help of such famous musicians as Charlie Daniels and Miranda Lambert it got a lot more success, than the previous work. After two years from the date of the release there were sold approximately 334,800 disc records.
While the second record was not fully appreciated by the critics, the third one got a lot of positive reviews. Most of the sources gave Justin Moore album more than 4. For example, Stephen Thomas Erlewine, a senior editor of All music website, told, that “Off the Beaten Path” had its uniqueness. Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos mentioned, that author continued to keep his old style of music and that the record was a really nice and well-produced surprise. Ashley Cooke of Rough stock noted about how unchangeable Justin Moore’s lovely music and style was. Raina Smith added that Moore successfully combined traditional country music with modern time. The recognition was really high, so even major sources gave “Off The Beaten Path” their appreciation. For example, Jon Caramanica from The New York Times said, that musician comprised in new sound two different epochs determined old and new country-style schools. He also added, that did not think of Justin as a dissenter, only as a person, who can apply modern era to the good old style. According to his opinion, the singer knew what he was doing by saving the atmosphere of 70-s for the old fans and adjusting modern waves to it for modern listeners. Not all the critics were positive in their opinion though. Bob Pax man gave the music C+ and said about a lot of clichés. American journalist Brian Mansfield from USA Today told there was nothing truly special about the album.
In spite of the bad opinions on the record, it reached number 1 in US Top Country according to Billboard and number 2 in US Billboard Top-200. As for other countries, it was number five among all Canadian albums according to Billboard. Under the production of the record there were released three singles: "Point at You", "Lettin' the Night Roll" and "This Kind of Town". The first single, "Point at You" was released in March 2013. It was warmly accepted by the critics, although they not referred to it as the best song from the album. It reached number two in US Country Airplay and got golden certification. The second single, "Lettin' the NightRoll", released in October 2013 received good references from critics. It was number 1 in in US Country Airplay. "This Kind of Town", the third single written by American songwriters Chris Tompkins and Andrew Dorff started to air in October, 2014, but it did not get much recognition. To support the new release Justin Moore throws a tour, where he made a concert in every state of the US. The show had a great success.
